It's Back to School Time for the Winch Faculty!

We have just come off an amazing and important week at the Winchendon School. Thirty five teachers sequestered themselves with no cell phones but lots of good food. For five days the teachers worked together, learning from each other and advancing their craft.
Chris McDonald and Todd Bucklin did a phenomenal job of putting together a wonderful curriculum for the week. Their leadership and expertise were augmented by several outside experts including Bev and Kim from the SIT Graduate Institute, and Dr. Marilyn Engelman and her colleague Meredith Powell, who joined us to introduce new methodologies and strategies.

It has been wonderful to observe the excitement and level of engagement. There have been many discussions that have been so lively that an outside observer might have thought that we talking about politics, the Red Sox or Winchendon basketball. But it was all about ways to enhance the curriculum and student experience for the coming year. Our students will be the beneficiaries of this week's efforts.

As is always the case at Winchendon, with all that hard work there was some fun and good food as well!

Thanks to all who all participated and made Winch U a terrific and important success.

John
